What does a typical day look like at baannilel?

Mornings begin with a home-cooked breakfast from our kitchen, prepared using fresh produce from Udon Thani's local markets. Residents take meals together at the house table or on the verandah. Afternoons are unhurried — the garden, the sitting room, and reading spaces are all available. On scheduled days, there are activities such as cooking demonstrations, cultural outings, and temple visits. Evenings are quiet and early by design.

Is baannilel a medical facility?

No. baannilel is a non-medical boarding house for older adults who are independently mobile and in generally stable health. We provide personal non-medical daily assistance as part of our Full Living Package — help with daily routines, companionship, and gentle support. For residents who require ongoing nursing care or medical management, Udon Thani has several hospitals and specialist facilities nearby that we are happy to point families toward.

How do families stay informed about their loved ones?

For families based abroad, we send regular written updates — typically weekly — covering how the resident is settling, what they have eaten, activities they have joined, and anything the family should know. We take the trust families place in us with genuine seriousness. Families are always welcome to visit; there are no restricted visiting hours at baannilel.

Can residents try the house before committing to a longer stay?

We do offer short-stay arrangements for those who would like to spend a few weeks at baannilel before deciding. We find this is a good way for both the resident and the house to understand whether it is the right fit. Please get in touch to discuss availability.

What languages does the house team speak?

Our team speaks Thai and Isan Thai. English communication is available for written correspondence with families and for initial enquiries. We have found that most residents adapt comfortably to the warm atmosphere of the house regardless of language, but we are always happy to discuss specific needs in advance.

What is the pricing and what is included?

Monthly fees range from ฿12,000 for a shared pond view room to ฿42,000 for our Full Living Package. All rooms include three meals daily and access to the house garden and verandah. Higher tiers include private bathrooms, laundry, activity participation, and personal daily assistance. There are no hidden charges. Please enquire for a full written breakdown.
